Marketing Strategy and Planning

Existing Marketing Plan Review | If you already have a marketing plan, and you know that it’s not as powerful as it could be in the online or social media realm, we review your plan with an eye to building it up with regard to your business’ online presence and  e-commerce. At the end of our review we give you very specific recommendations on ways to augment your current plan to take advantage of the marketing and sales opportunities offered by being on the web, and integrate with the tactics you are already employing.

Research and Insights | We conduct qualitative research internal to your organization (owner/key stakeholder/executive and employee or vendor), external to it (market, consumer), as well as working with your existing customer base.  In circumstances where keeping the identity of our client is not required, we leverage this phase as a warm-up marketing tool for our clients. Strategy and Requirements | We distill our client’s online strategy from the definition of their market, their customer profiles, the Vision and Mission of the company, and by the insights garnered from research. The requirements are a hierarchy of specific “must haves” that start with business requirements (sales goals, reach, social media measures, etc.), which helps define the best tactics and tools to use that then allows us to define the content, technical and interactivity requirements.

Marketing Plan | This is the tactical expression of the Strategy and Requirements for your business. It covers a minimum 12-month timeline and is a living plan. The Marketing Plan may be very simple for some of our clients with a single timeline document showing major milestones and outcomes, general schedule of marketing events (serving more like calendar reminders than actual To-Do lists). Other of our clients may want more detailed plans that include editorial calendars and a line-up of topics for their blogs, newsletters and social media.
